Juniors Emmanuel Perez and Emmanuel Hernandez of Cathedral High in Los Angeles finished first and fifth in the Division 4 boys final at the CIF State Cross Country Championships at Woodward Park in Fresno. Perez covered the 5-kilometer layout in 15:05.4 and Hernandez clocked 15:27.6 for Cathedral, which returned to the Division 4 podium for the first time since winning the title in 2017 by placing runner-up behind St. Francis by a 93-114 margin.
